[Turkish Victory Day 2022]

30 August Victory Day message from Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu

After returning to Ankara as a hero who had freed his country and countrymen from captivity, the Great Leader, as Klçdarolu put it, "went to work immediately in order to actualize the idea of the Republic that he had formed since his childhood, and that he defined as the beautiful sun of peace..." What he said in his message was:

Besides being a military triumph of a genius, the events of August 30 are the most visible manifestation of the dedication to freedom and independence shown by Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

We, the Republican People's Party, carry on the fight as the current custodians of this illustrious legacy. Our Republic's groundwork was built on that day, and the fight for democracy will continue until it is fully realized. The'sweet sun of peace' shall rise upon our glorious nation, we swear.

The sons of the country who were martyred in the fight against terrorism have my deepest respect and my deepest love. With these sentiments, we honor all of our heroes, but especially Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the leader of the War of Independence, who illuminated the future of our country with his great genius. We wish our country well on this Victory Day, August 30.

Bursa Governor Yakup Canbolat's “30 August Victory Day” Message:

To My Fellow Bursans;

Together as a country, we are commemorating the centennial of the glorious triumph of August 30, 1922, which laid the foundation for the founding of the Turkish Republic, and we do so with all the joy and enthusiasm that comes with doing so after a full century has passed.

It was only when our army was fully united and integrated with its people that we were able to achieve the victory of August 30. Our country, which has been targeted for erasure, has triumphed, sending one of the strongest statements that it will continue to make history and will not be forgotten. This country will continue to exist and maintain its unity and dedication to serving mankind as long as the planet continues to remain still.

Due to its strategic location, various countries have long desired the territory on which we now find ourselves. Just a century ago, the western powers who wanted to possess these unique regions attempted to divide our country and wipe our nation from the historical record.

The so-called cultured centers of wickedness, seizing our territory from all sides and dividing it among themselves, pulled us as a people into a brutal War of Independence. Our heroic country has overcome its adversaries' nefarious plots and emerged triumphant from the war for independence because of its unwavering will and unwavering faith.

We have shown the world that as a great country that has lived freely for generations, we cannot remain under anyone's captivity and that we are committed to live free and independently with our dignity by fighting not only the enemy but even poverty to achieve this beautiful triumph. This triumph was earned via the valiant efforts of women, men, and children of all ages throughout Anatolia.

The events of August 30 tell the story of thousands of people who lost hope in the world but lived to tell about the valiant Turkish nation, who rushed from front to front at the cost of their lives to protect the independence and indivisible integrity of our homeland, and who struggled without hesitation against the enemy. is the clearest demonstration that obstacles cannot be used as an excuse.

Today, as in the past, everywhere and with everyone of us, we struggle for the survival of our country as a nation, competing with the developed nations of the world in every sector, leading the defense of universal human values, standing with the downtrodden and against the oppressors and traitors. To put it simply, we are bound and determined to succeed.

It is important for everyone to understand that the Turkish people are a holy people, devoted to their national and spiritual values, who will never give those who carry out treacherous attacks against the unity, harmony, and indivisible integrity of our country an opportunity. They will protect their homeland, their flag, and their adhan, and they will consider being a martyr to be the holiest post after prophethood.

We remember the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his associates, our martyrs, and the veterans who have fought our nation against internal and foreign foes with kindness, appreciation, and thankfulness on this historic day. To your success, my sincere congratulation.

Kayseri Governor Gökmen Çiçek on August 30 Victory Day:

The 100th anniversary of the glorious triumph won by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his companions, ending the tough War of Independence for the sake of the powerful nation, is a cause for tremendous pride and respect.

This Republic, our beautiful homeland, has been bequeathed to us by our martyrs and veterans, and we owe it to them and to future generations to safeguard it and honor it forever in the ways that they have inspired us.
