Many announcements about Avatar 2 were made at the CinemaCon convention, which was held in Anaheim, California. This is the main takeaway from the experience.

Avatar 2 : The Way of Water-news and announcements
[AVATAR 2]

Every year, the entertainment industry descends to Las Vegas for CinemaCon. This event, which is only open to exhibitors, provides a unique chance for several studios to announce their plans for the next years. On Wednesday, March 27, Disney had the opportunity to make some significant news. Avatar 2, the long-awaited sequel to James Cameron's cult film that was released nearly thirteen years ago this month, is among the information included therein. What we know thus far about the feature film, which will be released on December 14, is as follows:

THE MOVIE FINALLY HAS A TITLE

The first piece of news is that the sequel now has an official title! We no longer need to talk about "Avatar 2," but rather "Avatar: The Way of Water." It's hardly surprising when you consider that the action of the film will take place among unknown coral reefs. What is the pitch? After ten years have passed after the events of the first film, Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) live a quiet existence in the wilderness with their two children. However, they are threatened by a non-governmental group, which causes the little family to leave to a location near the sea. There, they discover a new clan, the Metkayina, with traditions that are very different from their own, as well as magnificent aquatic animals that they must learn to control.

DETAILS ON THE SUITES

After being invited to talk about the picture, Jon Landau, the producer of the series, shared some insights about the latter as well as the three other sequels that have already begun production. One of the most noteworthy points made by this individual was that all of the upcoming feature films would center on the Sully family, but that each of them will tell its own tale and so reach its own resolution on its own. Specifically speaking about technological aspects, the director said that there will be "a high frame rate, ever higher 3D quality, and more realism in the spectacular effects." It makes promises!

AVATAR 2 TRAILER RELEASE IN A FEW DAYS

It was only a rumor, after all... However, it has now been confirmed that the first trailer for "Avatar: The Way of Water" will be released in theaters on May 4, just in time for the release of "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness," the second installment of Marvel's magician superhero adventures, on the same day. The footage will be posted the following week, at the latest.

AVATAR THE FIRST PART WILL RETURN TO THEATERS

History has it that Disney chose to replay the first half of the film in 3D in order to put the audience in the bath and refresh their memories. This is a must-see event for the younger generation, who may not have had the opportunity to see this masterpiece on the big screen before this event. It is important to note that the first sessions in France and other European countries will take place on September  21st. Make a note of this in your calendars immediately.
