Here is a family that knows how to throw a good party. From the daughter-in-law to the grandparents and all the way down to the big cousin, they have passed on an excessive love of carnival.

For at least six months of the year, their days are punctuated by the construction of tanks, each more inspired than the last. A massive chicken head, a Greek god, and yes, I sand, paint, and screw. These are the stars that are suspended above the tractor. Every year, it teems with creativity, inspiration, and recuperation, as they utilize items from previous years.

Everyone is working here, including Reine, the great-aunt, who is 83 years old. ""It's a moment of delight," she adds with a smile. Everything is lost to us!" The younger generation shares this excitement. "I've been here since I was two, and I've been constructing since I was seven," Anthony reveals. "Yes, my leisure time, I spend it here".

Didier, the family's father, is the site manager. He is also in charge of his animated tanks' mechanics. He transforms back into a child in front of the animated shapes "It's the result of six months of hard labor. That is the prize when everything goes well "!

This family has a true cult following for carnivals in general, and for the one in Bordeaux in particular. It runs in the family. The grandparents have never missed an issue in the past sixty years. They even got together there! That happened in 1962.

"I saw that he was paying attention to me," she says. "His green eyes bewitched me," laughs the grandfather.

They realize this while looking at family photos. Half of the photographs are about the carnival! To watch them welded and laughing about their continuously refreshed project is to think that they have made their lives the most beautiful carnival by playing with the brush and the hammer.
