Google displayed one of its famous doodles in celebration of a notable artist on Saturday, the 17th. This time, in honor of Ana Mercedes Hoyos (1942-2004), one of Colombia's most well-known painters, who would have turned 79 on September 29.

The design has a fruit still life paired with tropical hues that represent the cultures and landscapes of the Caribbean, as is typical of the works of the artist winner of more than 17 accolades, both domestically and internationally.

Who was Ana Mercedes Hoyos?

Ana Mercedes was born in Bogotá, Colombia, to an architect family. She was encouraged to study Art History from an early age.

He studied graphic arts at Universidad de los Andes after attending Marymount College. She began by experimenting with more minimalist and abstract approaches. This resulted in her debut series: Windows (Windows).
