The Emir of Qatar has three wives, with Sheikha Jawaher serving as First Lady. She is permitted to accompany her spouse to key international appointments. She also attended the Queen's funeral. But who is the first wife of the Emir?

Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, 43, has been Qatar's head of state with total governing and legislative powers since 2013. He was schooled at Europe's most prestigious schools as a youngster and adolescent. He also attended the British Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst, where Prince William formerly studied.

Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani used to take tennis lessons from none other than Boris Becker in his spare time. Today, the Emir, of whom former Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel once stated, "I have seldom seen someone who listens with such great curiosity when others talk about him, the world, and how it moves," enjoys Arabian horses, football, and luxury horses.

Aside from his official tasks and varied pastimes, the monarch should not be bored in his personal life. Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has been married three times and has 13 children. His net worth is believed to be at least €1.76 billion. In 2005, he married his first wife, Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani (38). In 2009, he married Sheikha Al-Anoud bint Mana Al Hajri, and six years later, he married Noora bint Hathal ad-Dosari.

Jawaher has significant perks as the first wife, such as accompanying her husband to important engagements overseas. They have two boys and two daughters together. Jawaher hails from a noble and powerful family. Her father was once Qatar's prime minister. She is distantly related to her husband - they are second cousins.

The Arabian royal appears to be an avid art collector who also enjoys furthering her education: Jawaher earned her master's degree in art science in Qatar in 2021.

Jawaher appeared publicly sans a veil for the first time in 2022 while visiting Spain

Most recently, the princess joined her husband at Queen Elizabeth II's burial. Her travel to Spain in May 2022 generated a stir in her home nation. Because Jawaher drew notice not just for her elegant ivory-colored Chanel coat and Hermes bags when she met King Felipe (54) and Queen Letizia of Spain (50). According to the online publication The Arab Weekly, it was her first public appearance without a veil. In her own nation of Qatar, this would be impossible. Women are only permitted to appear in public when completely veiled.

Experts believe that the ascension to the king might yet spark tensions among the three ladies, according to "The Arab Weekly." Because in Qatar, the eldest son is not generally named crown prince.
