Pierre Palmade will not be held in pre-trial custody, owing to his deteriorating health. Therefore, the Paris Court of Appeal determined on Tuesday, confirming its placement under judicial supervision. In its deliberations, "the investigating chamber of the Paris Court of Appeal decided that Pierre Palmade's condition of health was not incompatible with continuous imprisonment," according to the news release.

On Monday, March 6, the investigating judge ordered Pierre Palmade to be placed under court supervision (without an electronic bracelet) due to his condition of health following a stroke. The Melun prosecution then filed an appeal against this ruling. A week ago, the magistrate designated by the Paris Court of Appeal ruled, contrary to the general prosecutor's office's requisitions, that the investigating judge's judgment be carried out until the Court of Appeal rules. As a result, Pierre Palmade was placed under court supervision.

On February 10, Pierre Palmade's automobile collided with an incoming vehicle. In addition to the actor, three others were critically injured in the accident: a 38-year-old man, his 6-year-old son, and his 27-year-old sister-in-law, who lost the baby she was expecting as a result of the crash.

According to the Melun prosecution, while in police custody, Pierre Palmade, who has struggled with drug addiction for decades, acknowledged to having used cocaine and synthetic narcotics before driving.

In a condition of legal recidivism, he was charged with homicide and involuntary injuries caused by a motorist who had used opiates. Two other males, who were passengers with the actor at the time of the accident, were designated as aided witnesses. The probe is still ongoing.
