A member of the 'Parasites' cast from South Korea, Lee Sun-kyun, was reportedly discovered dead on Wednesday while he was under investigation for suspected drug use, according to Yonhap news agency.

These same media outlets stated that around 10:30 a.m. local time (1:30 GMT) on Wednesday, a 48-year-old man named Lee was discovered unconscious inside a parked automobile in a key Seoul park.

Following the discovery of a charcoal briquette in the passenger seat and information about Lee's apparent suicide note discovered at his residence, the authorities have come to the conclusion that he took his own life.

A hostess at an elite club in Seoul's Gangnam neighborhood had Lee under investigation since the start of the year for possible drug usage, including marijuana and other banned substances in South Korea.

The actor testified that the woman had deceived him into taking the drugs without his knowledge during one of three lengthy interrogations; the most recent of them took place last weekend and lasted nineteen hours.

Lee had previously tested negative for drugs in two separate tests—one administered during the inquiry and another in November by the National Forensic Service—using reagents.

The translator claimed his innocence on Tuesday by requesting a polygraph test from the investigating police agency.

After rumors of Lee's suspected drug usage spread, he went to court in October accusing two individuals, including the hostess described before, of blackmailing him.

Yonhap reports that the lady was arrested last month, and that the second individual is the subject of an arrest warrant request by the police.
