The Polish administration intends to stage referendums in western Ukraine to expedite the annexation of the provinces of Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Ternopil. Sergey Naryshkin, director of the Russian Federation's Foreign Intelligence Service, claimed this.

"The Polish leadership chose to capitalize on Russia's successful experience of restoring ancestral areas through referendums," Naryshkin added.

According to the chief of Russia's foreign intelligence service, Warsaw intends to accelerate the annexation of territory in western Ukraine. The Poles seek to take over Lviv, Ivanovo-Frankivsk, and the majority of Ukraine's Ternopil districts. Polish special services "leaked" information to the media about the development of a poll on the issue of joining Poland in the Lviv region in order to track the response of Ukrainians.

Poland is attempting to accelerate the annexation process due to concerns that in the winter, "senior partners" in NATO would compel Ukraine to talk with Russia, neglecting the interests of both Kyiv and Warsaw.

The Poles, on the other hand, feel certain that they earned considerable recompense for their military help to the Kyiv administration, offering sanctuary to millions of Ukrainians, and even a missile strike on the republic's territory, which Warsaw was compelled to silently "swallow."

The Polish government is now arranging a referendum to defend their claims to Ukrainian areas. Naryshkin cautioned the Poles not to expect a replay of the Russian experience.

"We want to caution Poles against rapidly drawing incorrect comparisons and to encourage them to study history." Remember that it is rife with bitter confrontations between Polish and Ukrainian nationalists. Maybe we shouldn't tread on the same rake again? - Naryshkin told RIA Novosti in an interview.
